i wanna share my current favorite skincare products as a licensed esthetician! these are what i have been using lately!
everyone has different skin so some of these products might not be the best for you, so take this with a grain of salt. farmhouse fresh's website allows you to chat with an esthetician to pick the right products!
lastly, this isn't sponsored! i make ZERO dollars if you decide to purchase these LOL! i do not work with or for farmhouse fresh. my salon does use skin authority, but i don't make commission if you decide to purchase from them either.
(... i wish farmhouse fresh sponsored me lol!)

here's a breakdown of the products i use, why, and in the correct order!
1.) make it melt silky milk cleansing balm by farmhouse fresh

i use this product at nighttime to remove makeup and spf, so i only use it once a day. it feels so amazing and the jar has so much product in it! it comes with a tiny little spatula to hep you get product out too! this is great for all skin types!
2.) new groove hemp wash gel cleanser by farmhouse fresh

this is my second cleanse at night. in the morning, i will start with this product, this is an amazing gel cleanser that turns foamy when you add water. it smells so fresh and my skin doesn't feel stripped after. i have oily skin, so this cleanser is best suited for me.
3.) super lettuce facial tonic by farmhouse fresh

i mist this all over my face at nighttime only once a day. my skin can handle daily exfoliation, so if you're considering this product, try it 2-3x a week first. i will also spray this on my bikini area since i do my own brazilians. i can make a separate post about brazilian wax aftercare if anyone is interested!
4.) finely awake plantfoliant by farmhouse fresh

this is a facial scrub that i do only at nighttime about 2-3x a week (or just when i wanna do a facial at home). if you have sensitive skin, this might be a little harsh for you. i apply the product, wet my hands, then massage the product in circular motions for a bit then let it set for about 10 minutes before washing off with water
5.) 7 minute makeover mask by skin authority

this is a single use sheet mask i like to use when i feel like having a facial night. as the name implies, let it set for 7 minutes then remove, and rinse the residue with warm water. this is one of those bubbling charcoal masks that feel heavenly! any skin type can use this product.
6.) flat out firm hyaluronic acid peptide firming serum by farmhouse fresh

this is pretty much the only serum i've been using lately. i usually put this on once a night, but it wouldn't hurt you to do 2x a day if you really wanted to. this serum hydrates and targets wrinkles without retinols.
7.) kale water weightless moisturizer by farmhouse fresh

as i mentioned above, i have oily skin, so this thinner moisturizer is my favorite, especially for mornings. be aware that this product does have retinyl palmitate, which is a gentler form of retinol. yes, you can use it everyday, but you need to wear spf when using any form of retinol (aka vitamin a).
8.) watermelonaid wrinkle-out silky gelee by farmhouse fresh

i got this product free when i placed a bigger order. i like to use this moisturizer instead of the kale water one every now and then at nighttime. beware, it is heavier and thicker but feels amazing. it is better suited for drier skin types but sometimes i like the extra drench! the watermelon and cbd are mega soothing as well!
9.) bluephoria lip therapy by farmhouse fresh

this is my current favorite lip balm! i also got this as a freebie when i ordered if i'm remembering correctly. i like to use this everyday in the morning. it uses hemp, just like the cleanser i mentioned earlier, to sooth, nourish and replenish lips. i love how mine feel after using!
10.) tint-sational sheer skin-perfecting serum by farmhouse fresh

this is technically skincare, but i use this as my makeup! it's the perfect dewy look if you hate wearing foundation. this product also has peptides, retinyl palmitate and vitamin c! i use a makeup primer with spf in it before using this product (not pictured).
i do sometimes use a tinted spf instead of those two products, it just depends on how my skin is feeling.
thank you so much for reaching the bottom! i absolutely love farmhouse fresh and know you will too! they love to give you free full-sized products when you spend a certain amount of money and they send free samples with every single order! i can't wait to try more products and review them for y'all!

This is my first time learning about this brand, we don't have it in Puerto Rico. But that moisturizer (#7) sounds really good! I have combination skin (leaning more towards oily tho...) and I want to find a new moisturizer that isn't CeraVe :(( Now that I turned 24, when is it that you'd recommend to start using retinol? I'd rather ask you instead of having Google AI (ew) lie to me 😭
ReplyDeletehey alondra! you can technically start retinol whenever in your 20s. i don't recommend anything crazy, that moisturizer has retinyl palmitate, which is a gentle form.
Deletei don't think early 20s NEED it if that makes sense, just if you want to. teens def don't need it unless stated otherwise from a dermatologist.
if you're concerned about preventing signs of aging, you could start now if you really wanted to. thanks for your question!

as far as looking for a better moisturizer, cerave uses veryyyy basic formulas. this is awesome if you're on acne meds or other things from a derm, but they want you to use the most basic products if that makes sense!
Deletei'm not sure exactly what products are available where you're at, but medicube, byoma, and other popular brands have good moisturizers. if you're acne prone, the red cream by medicube is liked by a lot of estheticians i trust who have personally tried it

What are some products you'd recommend to someone with DRY ( AS FUCK) skin? Its so hard to find products that actually keep my skin hydrated.
ReplyDeletehii so without seeing your skin for myself, these are generalizations that may or may not apply to you.. and i will try to keep this short i could yap forever LOL!
Deletei would love to see your skin myself so i could assess if you're lacking oil, water content, or both.
(ex. is your skin truly dry? is your skin dehydrated? both? there IS a difference! ... i could see this in person)
i'm going to proceed as if you are lacking both oil and water content, since you say you're extremely dry.
it's a little pricey, but farmhouse fresh has a lustre rose serum-in-oil that would help target both. it has 4 hyaluronic acids and seaberry oil. a pea size amount 1x daily would last you a long time. i would purchase this if i was dry.
if not that product, i recommend searching for key words like "hyaluronic acid" and "oil". I would recommend avoiding salicylic acid, or any products that state "oil control". if you're using acne products, check what ingredient is advertised, it's usually salicylic. i recommend a good exfoliant towards the end of this reply, but if not that one, i'd recommend mandelic acid or lactic acid products since they tend to be more gentle.. as long as you arent deathly allergic to lactose or almonds.
don't ONLY use an oil. pair it with something hyaluronic. oil traps in existing moisture, but if you don't have any, it can act like a seal, because it is an emollient (fancy word for what i just described lol). water-based moisturizers and hyaluronic acids are humectants, a fancy word for a product that draws moisture from the environment to deliver water content to the skin.
because of this, layer hyaluronic acid / water based product FIRST then add an oil after.
the product i recommended above combines both into one where they function together, so i recommend it to be efficient.
i would also make sure your other products are truly suited for dry skin. make sure your cleanser isn't stripping, ("for oily skin", "salicylic acid" for example).
lastly, i wonder if you exfoliate and what with, and how that feels for you. even dry skin needs to exfoliate off the dead skin cell buildup. farmhouse fresh has a product called "one fine day flawless face polish". this product has lots of nourishing ingredients to ensure your skin doesn't feel irritated afterwards. this one is a little more affordable than the product i mentioned above. this would last you FOREVER. the jar of face polish i have has lasted me MONTHS.
i really hope this makes sense and does help!! <3

Thank you so much, Cherry!
DeleteTo answer your questions, I exfoliate with "The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner."; This is the first toner I've EVER used, so I think it does a good job. Not sure LOL. My skin does feel dry after ( to be fair, I didn't get it to help with hydration), but it does a great job exfoliating and getting rid of the dirt/makeup my cleanser missed. It doesn't burn or anything; my skin isn't sensitive at all. I've seen that milky toners help with dryness, but I don't know how true that is.
I haven't really put my foot in the serum world yet, but now I know NOT to get salicylic acid at all. And I'm also not using an oil currently. Just a face wash, toner, and moisturizer (That has Glycerin, Niacinamide, and Panthenol). Im currently on the lookout for a sunscreen that doesn't have me looking like Casper lol.
I guess I'm trying to find a balance to treat my dryness and my discoloration. I have been thinking about seeing a dermatologist; hopefully they can help me ( if i find a good one). Fingers crossed! But I will look into the recommendations you have provided.
Thank you again, divaa <3
ahhh i see i see. as long as you don't feel tight and "squeaky clean" if that makes sense then the glycolic is okay!
Deleteserums are optional overall but can really help with specific issues! and the sunscreen thing is sooooooooooooo real. they leave an AWFUL cast no matter what. if you could find a tinted spf that might help but a lot of those products don't have good shade ranges and it's so infuriatingggggg.
sometimes derm intervention is necessary! i havent physically seen your skin and most things can be treated topically, that's totally your call <3
of course i love talking about this stuff! <3 <3 <3
absolutely loving this, i defiantly want to try some of these- xoxo camille
ReplyDeleteyay you totally should i love this brand!
DeleteI love the recommendations you have given. Out of all of them, what would you say are your top 3 most needed?! What can you not see yourself living without?! Thank you again for the lovely recommendations! We love a diva who doesn't gatekeep!
ReplyDelete1.) new groove hemp wash cleanser
Delete2.) super lettuce tonic
3.) kale water weightless moisturizer!
this is the bare minimum of my routine so i have to use these at least!! sorry for the delay in response </3
