dear diary,
for my age, i am ahead in life. i am married, i co-own my home with my husband, i'm no longer in school, working my career.... literally everything everyone works towards. i'm 22 with my shit together basically. isn't that great? yes, but i'm greedy.
if you saw my "about me" widget, you'll know i'm a licensed esthetician. i love being an esthetician, but the journey to become one was so short. i finished school in 6 months, which is awesome, but i feel like i'm not getting the "college" experience, even though i went to college for 2 years before that lol. i took some college classes at 16 while i was in high school, but i never got a degree.
i have come to terms with the fact that i want to be an esthetics instructor. i love explaining things to people, and i love teaching others. i actually considered being a college instructor for science at one point, so i guess that's kinda coming back.
i'm literally 22, it's never too late to go back to school! not sure why i'm hesitating.

have you ever hesitated on a big decision like this? feel free to share in the comments. this isn't just my diary, it's yours too <3
love,
cherry

that’s exactly where I’m at, except with the separation of marriage. I know that being friends isn’t doing anything to help me more forward and on, but I’m also 100% confident that I can’t give it my all anymore so I’m not giving him false hope. We’re both just too scared to let the other out of our life for good.
ReplyDeleteit can be soooo incredibly hard to completely disconnect from someone. you sound so articulate and so aware of yourself tho, which is such a hard skill. put yourself first. sometimes the right thing is the hard thing to do. wishing you the best,
Deletexoxo, cherry 🍒
yes!! this is such a common struggle with young women in their early 20’s it feels like we’ve been long set up into believing that being a woman is a race. everything is like dominos and they fall when they’re ready and sometimes there’s just more dominos that need to fall before the big ones.
ReplyDelete*sigh* you are so right. couldn’t have said it better myself. thank you for being here 🍒
DeleteHoney you're only 22! That's so young!! I would just (if you are financially stable enough ofc) go for it! Get that college experience and extra education! Why not!! You have so much life left to live, whats stopping you from doing what you kind of still really want to do! <3 kisses!
ReplyDeletethank you for the motivation, admirable daughter! we really do feel like we're running out of time when we've just begun <3
Deleteso glad you're here, seriously!
love,
cherry
I really liked this post because I think there’s huge pressure to feel satisfied once we’ve achieved the things everyone considers “the right path.” But wanting more doesn’t mean we don’t value what we already have.
ReplyDeleteI also find it really interesting that you mentioned going back to school. I’m 23 and nearing the end of college, so I can totally relate to that feeling of thinking about the next step before even fully finishing the current one, haha. Sometimes it feels like we need to be absolutely certain before making a decision, when in reality, we figure out what we want as we go along.
Oddly Mine
milla,
Deletethank you for commenting on my diary entry! i'm glad it resonated with you, i completely agree that we always strive to do more, even when we have more.
i finished trade school in 2023 at the age of 19 (turned 20 shortly after) so i havent really chased "something new" in a minute. it's so exciting that you're almost done with school! sometimes it feels like school will never end.. then you blink and you're almost done! whatever your next step is, i wish you the best and never settle for less.
until next time!
love,
cherry <3
